Fortuneteller

What fun!  This week the Diva dredged up the old "fortuneteller" that we all made in elementary school.  Her twist required that we add a different tangle to each section.  This is my contribution

Derwent Inktense pencils and Aqua Flow brushes =FUN

Letter practice and expected new baby work together here.
Strathmore watercolor classes

I treated myself to the Derwent Inktense pencils and Aqua Flow brushes last week sometime.  In the midst of visits from grandchildren (for spring break), they arrived.  With all of the activity around here, trip to Disneyworld and the Everglades for a Speedy's Airboat ride, there wasn't much time for art.  However with these pencils you don't need much time and the brushes are portable so these are the results.   The colors are so vivid and very easy to work with.  My background disappointed me on the pink and yellow flowers but I think I need to work on that a bit more.   I love blending them.  They are not unlike Tombow markers but I think I have more control with the pencils.  Today (Sunday) is quiet so will play around a bit more with my new toys.

Spiral and Paradox

And hurray for the subconscious.  I had decided I couldn't come up with anything for this week's challenge and because of that and travel plans, I wouldn't participate this week.  But my mind had other plans for me.  I awakened this morning with an idea that I thought I would just try........maybe it would work.  So here it is and as always, thank you Laura for your nudges.

Tangle "duet"

This week we were challenged to use Golven in our tangle.  This week my head was not on tangling.  I had about 8 orchids that needed to be repotted.   I love to repot.  I get those 'girls' out of their pots and have a look at their roots and find out if I have been doing a good job caring for them or not.  I trim off all of the rotting roots and clean them off and then tuck them into what ever pot suits them for another year or two.  So it wasn't until I got them all tended to that I was able to think about the Challenge.  I decided to do a tangle "duet" using Hi C and Golven (with a couple of ooops).  Thanks Laura for another great Challenge and thank you Mariet for a new tangle.  I think I've got it now.
